Important questions to ask before choosing an overseas education consultant

A good consultant saves you time and mistakes. A poor one can cost you money, an intake, or worse. These questions help you tell the difference, and we are happy to answer every one of them ourselves.
About the service
- Exactly which services are included, and which cost extra?
- Will you give me a written list of fees before I pay anything?
- Who will handle my file, and how do I reach them?
About promises
- Do you guarantee a visa, admission, registration or a job? (The honest answer is no; decisions belong to governments, institutions and regulators.)
- Can you show me the official source for the requirements you are describing?
About advice that needs a licence
Some countries require immigration advice to be given by a licensed or registered adviser. Ask whether the consultant is licensed where that applies, or who they work with when it is required.
About your documents
- Will I see and approve everything submitted in my name?
- How do you store my documents and personal information?
Warning signs
- Guaranteed outcomes
- Pressure to pay immediately
- Suggestions to change or create documents
- Reluctance to put fees or services in writing
Bring these questions to your first consultation with us. You should leave knowing exactly what we do, what we do not do, and what it costs.
